We love Dr. Gary Chapman's The 5 Love Languages. Effective communication is essential for couples to realize relationship bliss. We have often taken the Love Language Quiz to help keep our relationship Fresh and Poppin'. This tool has helped us stay on the same communicative page. We recently developed a Little Twist to the quiz that has proven very productive in our lives together.

Follow the steps below to get the maximum benefit from this exercise.

Make it a Date Night over a cup of coffee, tea, wine, or the beverage of your choice.
Take the quiz SEPARATELY the first time. You will be taking it twice.
DO NOT show your partner your results (This is Key!)
Re-take the quiz, but answer the questions as you believe your partner would.
Together, review the Four Completed Quizzes, comparing your respective answers.
Without Judgment, honestly discuss your different responses to each other (if there are any).
Finally, concentrate on the questions you answered incorrectly.

This important exercise will help eliminate those false assumptions that often lead to unnecessary conflicts. Put the work in! Create the intimacy (In-To-Me-See) required for long-term thriving and successful relationships.

Our interest in the field of Relationship Development began on New Year's Day at the popular Shaker Square Aribica Coffeehouse. The couple at the adjoining table was listening to our conversation. My first thought was, "Don't Just Eavesdrop. Join Us!"

Inspiration was birthed into action. You could find us at coffee shops all over town, recording discussions about love, relationships, marriage, our experiences, and future expectations. We discovered the fascinating juxtaposition coffee has to marriage and relationships.
