We love "The 5 Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman. Couples effectively communicating with each other is essential to realizing relationship bliss.
We have taken the Love Language Quiz many times over the years. This tool has helped us to stay on the same communicative page with each other. We recently developed a Little Twist to the quiz that has proven very productive in our lives together.
Follow the steps below to get the maximum benefit from this exercise.

- First, carve out some time to do this without distraction(s). The quiz is free, fun, and takes little time to complete. Make it a Date Night over a cup of coffee, tea, wine, or the beverage of your choice.
- Take the online quiz separately the first time.
- Wait to show your partner your results (This is Key!)
- Re-take the quiz, but answer the questions as you believe your partner would.
- Review the Four Completed Quizzes (the one you took for yourself and the one you took as your partner), comparing your respective answers.
- Without Any Judgment, Honestly discuss your different responses to each other (if there are any).
- Finally, concentrate on the questions you answered incorrectly.
This exercise will help eliminate those false assumptions that often lead to unnecessary conflicts. Put the work in! Create the intimacy (In-To-Me-See) required for long-term thriving and successful relationships.
